What are the benefits of The Blue Hour?
Community This will be a small curated group of writers assembling in the spirit of generosity, fueling each other’s courage and sharing what works for them. We'll make it easy for you keep the Blue Hour vibe with you after the retreat with ways to connect support each other.
Courage We’ll create a space where it feels safer to take risks with your writing, to explore Paris, to be vulnerable, and to rekindle your beginner’s mind. In “I’m Mostly Here To Enjoy Myself,” Glynnis’ book about seeking pleasure in Paris, she wrote about shedding old barriers and getting naked in both literal and metaphoric ways at 47. Meanwhile, Susanna saw 60 approaching and her kids graduating college, and she decided to sell her Brooklyn apartment and move to Paris with two suitcases, one dog and no valid visa. And then figured it all out when she arrived. Freedom This retreat offers independence and that most precious of all commodities, time to be alone. Outside of the workshop/writing hours, and our shared meals there will be time to commune with a city that has a long history of inspiring both women and writers. You can finally claim the mental space to engage all your senses, to really see and notice what’s around you. You’re invited to wander without an agenda which might be the best way to figure out where you’re going. |
